History

Since its creation in November 2001, Atlântico has traveled a path of success and impressive accomplishments. This has only been possible by bringing together their youth and the solid 30-year experience of CPqD’s intense and consistently successful trajectory.

2009
  • Achieves Level 5 CMMI certification. 
  • Named one of the 150 best places to work in Brazil, by GuiaVocê/SA – EXAME.
  • Opens software testing unit in São Paulo.
  • Creates CPQi, for foreign market business.
  • The Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) Fortaleza, headquartered at Atlântico, participates in the international MIC conference in the United States.
2008
  • Opens international market with customers in England, Holland, Gibraltar, Spain and Sweden.
  • Receives ISO 9001:2008 recertification.
  • Sony Ericsson Content Awards 2008 winner.
2007
  • Signs a scientific, technological, financial and educational cooperation agreement with the Eldorado Research Institute, in Campinas, São Paulo.
  • Breaks the 100-project mark in partnerships with different national industrial enterprises, with resources from the IT Law funding program.
2006
  • First organization in Brazil’s North/Northeast region to receive Level 3 CMMI certification.
  • First place winner of the Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality (SBQS) “Best Experience Report” award with the paper: “Evolving from SW-CMM Level 2 to CMMI-SW Level 3.”
  • Receives FINEP Innovative Technology award – category: C&T Regional Institutional.
2005
  • Certified ISO 9001:2000.
2004
  • Signs agreements with the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Research and Projects Financing institution (FINEP) and with Sector Funds, distributed by government decrees.
  • Receives FINEP Innovative Technology award – category: Small Business.  
  • Opens unit in Sobral, upstate Ceará, to develop technological solutions for city governments.
2003
  • First organization in Brazil’s North/Northeast region to receive Level 2 SW-CMM certification. .
2002
  • First institution to be permanently certified by the new IT Law (LI 10.176
  • Signs agreements with the University of Ceará (UFC), State University of Ceará (UECE), University of Fortaleza (UNIFOR), Federal Institution of Education, Science and Technology, Ceará (CEFET-CE) and the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (INSOFT).
2001
  • The “CPqD Institute”, as Atlântico was first called, is founded.
